| March 23 , 2006 | Well
it finally happened; we've got our own website! I am very excited to have
this thing up and moving. Huge and heartfelt thanks to Joe "King
Long" Ng for doing such a killer job at bringing our ideas to the
Internet. In the near future we will be getting the message board up so
you can speak your mind and we will fill in more of the tasty bits as
we get settled in to our little spot on the web. Please check back often
to catch updated and up to date news about what's up in the S.I. camp.
Tell all your friends about us and maybe we can throw some music, intellect,
and fun onto this canvas called life. We hope to see you all soon. Till
then, be safe and be great.

| April 20 , 2006 | Hey everyone,
The Sai boys recently took a trip to Chris's home town of Owosso Michigan. They were there to make a surprise visit to Chris's family and to feel out some possible gigs. On both accounts, they were successful. They set up preliminary plans to play at Chip's Place, which is a bar/pizza restaurant in early September. Dates have not been solidified yet, but as soon as they are they will be posted. During the trip both Chris and Aaron took several pictures which can be seen in the photo archive here on the site. They also took some time and played a short set of music outside Curwood Castle in downtown Owosso. They had much fun and are looking forward to returning and performing. In other news, the guys are eager to play their upcoming shows at The Steaming Cup. They will be playing two sets on both nights so it will be an evening with Spendthrift Sai. They hope to see everyone there. Some brand new material will be played so be sure to show up. The site's message
board is up and running, so stop in and let everyone know what's on
your mind. Keep checking in to keep up to date on what's going on. |
| July 1 , 2006 | Well
hello everyone,
It has been over two months since we spoke. We apologize for the delay but things in the Sai camp have been busy. The boys have been diligently working on material for the upcoming recording. There is some exciting stuff being planned. In addition to working in the studio they have been working out in the field to promote the band and have been working for "The Man" to pay for their musical escapades. There is a break in the clouds for those of you that need your Spendthrift Fix. The Duo will be performing at their 2nd home, The Steaming Cup, on July 8th with special guests Kustom House Levee. There is of course no cover charge for the show so get on out there and have a blast. We hope to see you all there. We hope to be doing some significant updating to the site in the near future, so check back with us from time to time. Spendthrift Sai |

Well, Well, Well, the silence has finally been broken. We apologize again for the tardiness of these updates. The guys have been very busy playing, writing, and recording the new album. Unfortunately our friends on the web have been on the back burner. This will be soon rectified. The new album is coming along fairly well. After a grueling four months of troubleshooting and experimenting the recording process has finally begun. This is the first all digital recording to take place at Rainbird Studios and there is just as much learning going on as there is recording, but the wait is already proving worth it. The album will have about13 songs and is tentatively titled "Somewhere, Somebody". It is expected to be available around mid-spring. Several dates are being set for the guys to play at their second home "The Steaming Cup" during the course of 2007. Eight dates have been penciled in and as soon as they are set in ink they will be posted here and on the bands Myspace page. You can check out their page at http://www.myspace.com/spendthriftsai . We are playing at The Cup on Dec 8th at 7 pm. Hope to see you all there. That about wraps
things up for now. Check back for further updated and other site additions. |

Happy New Year Everyone, we hope the holiday were pleasant for everyone. Things have been active in the Sai camp. We have been diligently working on the album. We have many of the songs started and are beginning to get a glimpse of how everything will sound when it is finished. It is very exciting. We look forward to sharing some of our work in the near future. As we mentioned previously, we have set up several dates to play at The Steaming Cup. We played the first date yesterday. It went very well despite a devastating string break during "I Couldn't Compare" and the inclement weather. We are very grateful to all who showed up to the gig. We always have a great time playing at The Cup. Terry and Kerry have created an atmosphere along with their employees that is both comfortable and humble. If you haven't had a chance to stop there, be sure to. There is great food, excellent coffee and tea, great prices and music by some very talented local musicians. And speaking of local talent, we had a surprise guest in the audience. Francesca Brown stopped in for a listen. She is a regular player at The Cup and a wonderful person. You can learn more about her at these sites: http://www.francescabrown.com We will be playing at The Steaming Cup again on Saturday, February 10th at 7 PM. We hope to see you all there. Keep checking in for further updates and additions to the site. |

Greetings everyone, Well, we had a great
time at The Cup last Saturday. We had a great turnout even with the
silly weather. There will be a few weeks before we return to play, so
we will return to the studio, wind up the hard drive and continue working
on the new album. We loaded the gear into the studio and sat down for
a brief meeting and discovered we have the bed guitar tracks done for
over half of the songs so we are moving along with recording pretty
much on schedule. We will keep you updated. Hope to see you at the next
show. Please keep checking back for updated and possibly a sneak peak
at the new material. |
